If you apply to surfaces other than a car, the surface must be very smooth in order not to have air pockets. Dependent on that, the material is plenty tough for resisting a dog scratch. **Q: Does this come with detailed instructions and can it be applied to rubber bumpers?** A: No detailed instructions , apply same as clear bra films. Do your homework. Do not recommend to be put on porous surfaces as air bubbles will be most certainly be in the product.. Painted surfaces only **Q: Anybody use this as a Hull guard for a boat** A: I’ve used this to protect the paint on my boat from the fender and dock lines.
