Most offerings out there are thin flimsy metal. This is not. It's large enough to hold a small package and easy to mount. Looks great on my house! Like others have said, it is a very sturdy and well made mailbox. A little pricey, but it is significantly better than those cheap, thin, tin-like ones you find at the hardware store. I think it's worth the money.The opening is HUGE. I measured the opening about 8 1/4 wide and about 4 1/2 deep. I like that the opening is large and that it will likely hold a small package or two if needed. There is no locking feature, but I didn't require that. I didn't install the newspaper hooks at the bottom, but those are metal as well.There are three mounting holes only at the top (none on the lower area). Hardware is included, but I used my own.
