If you're into repairing or restoring guitars, removing and re fitting or fitting new strings this will be your best friend, because it has in-built 3 speed string winder. It sport a vibrating (ooo-err) metronome, as well as the tuner itself that automatically tunes up your instrument to a high degree of accuracy, with in-built alternative tuning, or, with the app you can create your own. Does it actually work? Yes, although for perfectionist who may have perfect pitch, you may need to fine tune by ear - particularly that pesky G string. Is it good value? If you have one guitar, and are not gigging, just playing for your own enjoyment, then maybe not, but it is fun and cool to show off to your friends. You can also select diferent tunings which is a useful function and the unit also has a memory to memorise diferent tunings that you may have for specific guitars that you may own. I have found the battery life to be very good, I use this tuner at least 4 or 5 times a week and get a good few months between charges. The motorised winding funtion is also a very useful and an essential function for me, saving so much time and energy replacing strings, there are various speed settings for this too. A few years later and this tuner has become an essential bit of kit for me, yes it comes at a price but for me it was worth every penny.

**Q: Just wondering how long it takes to organise the delivery? I ordered this 'in stock' item 2 days ago and it's still showing, "No delivery estimate".**

**Q: In the descripton it says that you can tune with a capo on, do i tune as though i'm in standard?**
A: Yes. Despite where the capo is, if you play in standard then make sure the tuning is standard. However, to ensure proper tuning, we recommend that you tune without a capo and then place a capo after the tuning is done.

**Q: It says you can change the A440 reference, what is the range. Does it go down to A432?**
A: Yes, you can change the reference pitch in 1Hz increments and the range is between 420 and 460 so you can definitely set your Roadie to A432.

**Q: When tuning with a capo on, do i tune up as though I'm in standard tuning, regardless of where the capo is placed?**
A: You can only tune the guitar, to the note you're actually playing?  
In other words, if your guitar is tuned with the entire set of strings tuned down, two half-steps, to 'D', then, if you have a capo in second position, you can use the R3, as if your guitar is tuned to an 'E'?  
Or, you can set the R3 to tune your guitar for, 'D', 'G', 'C', 'F', 'D'.  

It's incredibly flexable!  

It's totally logical...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A really great tuner - but a luxury, because a cheaper tuner would also do the job

This Roadie 3 guitar tuner totally delivers on what it promises, so I'm giving it five stars. But it is a luxury, because it costs five times the price of a clip-on tuner that would do the job perfectly well. This tuner turns the tuning pegs for you, which is great - but of course you could easily turn the tuning pegs yourself! A big advantage of this one is that you don't need to remember the tuning EADGBE - this one does it for you. Or you can set alternative tunings and this one will remember it. So if you want standard tuning for one song and Drop-D tuning for another song, this tuner will switch between the two quickly. That is fantastic. But many players may never need that functionality. By the way, you cannot tune bass guitars with this tuner (you need to buy the bass version for that). I love this tuner. It really does achieve what it claims to achieve. I totally recommend it - especially if you like gadgets and can afford an expensive tuner. But if you just want a tuner, I recommend a Snark Supertight clip-on tuner at a fifth of the price.
