Read here. *by M***A on Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2016* For all those that said that the camera is terrible.It could be that the shipping film is still on the lens.When I got mine I pulled the protective film from the back off. There is a cut out for the camera.However. The camera itself has his own little protective film that fits just the camera.It's kind of hard to see and I am sure overlooked in some cases. Just use your finger and it should feel like "glass". If it is "soft" plastic like then the protective film is still on it.I used my finger nail to "scratch" it and I could remove it.Worth a try for all that don't like the pictures.I can imagine that this makes all the difference. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ An 8" tablet that will be a big enjoyment *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2016* Pros: It has almost everything that one could want in an 8" tablet. It is very fast, very sharp screen 1280 pixels. It is really excellent for viewing Netflix and YouTube videos. It weighs almost nothing and is very thin, the selphie camera is adequate, and the price at $79 is a super deal.Con: The Front Facing Camera is terrible! It has a light like my Samsung Note 3 phone and would hint that it would be good. Not true. The camera could not find a photon until I had a big bright Florida sun to light the scene. In low light the camera saw basically black, nothing, nada, nechivo color and no detail. It might be ok if you had a bank o kleig lights to light your subject.Summery: It is really a good deal the price. I have the Note 3 for pictures so that camera is not a problem. The extra inch from a 7" tablet is substantial. You can use a larger type style making it more readable.and nicer to watch videos.I read a lot and the very sharp screen is good with Overdrive, Kindle, and Facebook apps. ### ⭐ Ow She's a BRICK... House... *by T***G on Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2016* Well... not a house, more of just a brick! I really wanted to like this tablet... and I did, but not for very long. It lasted long enough to get me past the required 90 day Amazon return window. While they claim this unit has a one year warranty, it does not. 4 months into ownership, my unit bricked. It would not take a charge or power up. I communicated back and forth with them via email about the situation. They told me that I was free to send it in for paid repair. They told me that the warranty did not include any hardware and that it only covered the "software"... I don't know that I have EVER had a device with defective software... Talk about deception in advertising... In addition, they promise regular firmware updates. There have been none. Perhaps the bricking issue could be resolved by a firmware update, which would MAKE it a "software" issue, but I doubt they would ever admit to that.So the tablet worked great for 3 months. One day, I pulled it out to use it and it was dead. Nothing... I plugged it in to charge... Again, nothing. I left it on the charger for 24 hours, tried the 3-finger startup process and every other thing I had read online about how to fix this tablet. As it ends out, any time the battery goes completely dead, the unit is finished. This is because the device does not know how to recharge a dead battery. If you leave it on AND plugged in, it will be dead within a day... even though it should have been powered by the charger cord.This unit has a faulty charging circuit. It will live for days of standby time but will die overnight when plugged in and turned on. Simply put, the device, for some reason uses more power while plugged in that it takes from the charger. When plugged in, the power bleeds off of the battery until it is fully depleted. Once it reaches zero percent charge, the tablet cannot charge it back up.Since my unit was out of warranty after 4 months of a one year warranty, I decided to take it apart and have a look-see. The first thing that happened was that all of the buttons fell out and were a pain to find. I noticed a LOT of tape and glue inside... Not really what I would refer to as "quality construction", but since nobody is supposed to ever see the inside, I suppose it doesn't matter.I de-soldered the battery and re-connected it after 5 minutes, then reassembled the unit. I played with the charging cable and eventually got it to start charging. It charged back to 100%, booted up and I was in business... for a couple of weeks until the battery died overnight while connected to the computer. I went to use it and... You guessed it... Dead. Bricked again. At this point, it is safe to assume that there is something wrong with the charging circuit, the battery or both. In any case, unless you want to have a tablet you'll have to take apart and work on every time the battery gets low, this is not the one.With as many complaints as I have read online about this tablet and this problem in particular, it is safe to assume that the company knows about the issue and "fixed" it by shortening the actual warranty. So it now comes with the "Georgia Guarantee"... When it breaks, you get to keep all the pieces.Garbage, garbage, garbage. Scam, scam, scam! I will NEVER again purchase any products made by Tablet Express. I shoulda bought the Samsung.
