I’m very glad that I did, because there’s enough room to layer with a hoodie and still be able to move freely. Pro tip: if you have long arms, go one size larger than your shirt size AND GET THE TALL!The jacket is plenty warm, and is every bit the quality of Dickies/Carhartt at a fraction the cost!I love the inner pockets, not crazy about the outer pockets. I feel like stuff will fall out of the inner pockets, but that’s a minor concern. I can live with it.NOW FOR WHAT I HATE: The jacket showed up to my house in a single clear bag that wasn’t even sealed. It had one piece of tape closing the bag. The Amazon conveyor belt could have easily ripped the bag off. When I got the coat, an arm was hanging out the opening. Do better with your packaging, or at least fully close the bag!With that said, the jacket arrived in mostly new condition, and is a good value for the money. Between this jacket and his thermals, he hasn’t complained once about the cold since he got it, which is exactly what I got it for. The material is sturdy and perfect for the work he does. He says the fit is comfortably loose and leaves him room to move freely, but isn’t so baggy that it gets in the way. I ended up choosing Berne over Carhartt primarily because of the price, and secondarily because of the number of positive reviews. Coincidentally, my father also has a Berne work jacket and couldn’t recommend the brand enough. He’s been impressed with the quality and warmth and how well it’s held up over the last several years.
