It was large compared to the Wen, with a better fence and a form of dust collection (although dust collection on a drill press table is iffy at best in my experience). However, I never utilized all the real estate Rocker offered, and I don't need or value a top-of-the-line fence for a drill press. Good enough is good enough. Since a new Rockler was about $170, and the Wen was less than a third of that price during Prime Days, I gave the Wen product a shot and am very pleased. I would make the same choice now. If you need a large space, a better fence, or dust collection, this might not be perfect for you, but I like it a lot. It's basic and stable and knowing what I know I would buy it again. Just take some ply, use your current insert as a template, and either miter or tablesaw some new ones. Takes about 5 - 10 minutes. **Q: This looks like a better version compared to the old one, except for the fact that the track seems too close to one another. Why is this? thx** A: From my experience it is perfectly positioned. Wood does bend so you want the hold down support to be close to the work piece, otherwise you could get a nasty catch that could hurt the piece and possibly you. **Q: Why are the tracks so close together? Doesn't this make clamping larger pieces harder? thx** A: Yes it does using the track. For larger pieces I've been using quickclamps more towards the outside. It is the ONLY thing about this new design I didn't like verses the older design. But overall it's a MUCH better design with the metal tracks, etc. so I went with this one. **Q: How thick is zero clearance plate?** A: The recess is 3/8" deep, but the supplied plate is 23/64"--a difference of .013". Only complaint is it mounts on top of the stock table, decreasing the size of material that can be drilled.
