A: Edge is 1inch deep and raised center is half inch deep.

**Q: Carbon steel or aluminum? It is listed as steel but says aluminum in other areas. Thanks to anyone.**
A: This item is made from carbon steel.

**Q: Will this pan hold 2 qts?**
A: I don't think so .  I used a single cake mix for two pans and there was some mix left over .  You will need a bigger size .
