I have found they can be rinsed out a few times before you need to to replace (but this will depend on your particular setup) Great value. Review: Parfait - Parfait ## Features - 2 LAYERS EQUALS CLEAR WATER: This unique 2 Layers in 1 filter media pad combines a typical aquarium filter pad with a water polishing pad. The top layer’s open fiber construction traps LARGER PARTICLES while the bottom layer's dense fiber network TRAPS FINER PARTICLES, working together to produce clean, clear water in your aquarium. - SEE THE DIFFERENCE: When you clean this true dual density filter pad, see how much more debris it traps compared to other aquarium media pads. Your fish filter, turtle filter, and all aquatic pets filters will produce clearer water. - CUT TO FIT: FilterFirst filter media aquarium pads can easily be cut to fit your filter. Our unique poly filter pad is PERFECT FOR FRESHWATER, REEF TANKS OR SALTWATER aquariums. Ideal filter pads for aquarium wet dry filters, and will also work in your sump, canister filter media, aquaponic system, and more. They’re also perfect as a turtle tank filter! - SAFE AND DURABLE: Our aquarium filter floss pad is constructed of durable polyester fibers making it strong and durable enough to be rinsed and reused several times before needing to be replaced. This dual density filter roll works great for indoor ponds or small outdoor ponds. For larger ponds use our Koi Pond filter media pads exclusively made for ponds and water gardens. - TIP: Water should flow through the looser fiber side of our FilterFirst pad first, capturing larger debris before reaching the tightly woven section. Made without dyes in USA! ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01AHIOM8A | | Best Sellers Rank | #42,142 in Pet Supplies ( See Top 100 in Pet Supplies ) #2,711 in Aquarium Accessories | | Brand | Aquatic Experts | | Brand Name | Aquatic Experts | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 5,334 Reviews | | Item Form | Filter Pad | | Item Weight | 0.25 Kilograms | | Item form | Filter Pad | | Item weight | 0.25 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | Aquatic Experts | | Manufacturer Part Number | PBA76PG6PA | | Model Number | PBA76PG6PA | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Pet Type | Fish | | Target Species | fish, turtle | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Unit count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Aquatic Experts - **Item form:** Filter Pad - **Item weight:** 0.25 Kilograms - **Manufacturer:** Aquatic Experts ## Images ![Aquatic Experts Aquarium Filter Floss for Fish Tank Filters - FilterFirst Aquarium Filter Pad - Media Roll for Crystal Clear Water, 3/4" - 1" Thick (12 Inch Wide, 72 Inch Long) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81sUFYga1SL.jpg) ![Aquatic Experts Aquarium Filter Floss for Fish Tank Filters - FilterFirst Aquarium Filter Pad - Media Roll for Crystal Clear Water, 3/4" - 1" Thick (12 Inch Wide, 72 Inch Long) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91zv1+Qh3yL.jpg) ![Aquatic Experts Aquarium Filter Floss for Fish Tank Filters - FilterFirst Aquarium Filter Pad - Media Roll for Crystal Clear Water, 3/4" - 1" Thick (12 Inch Wide, 72 Inch Long) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91YSfiBMSYL.jpg) ![Aquatic Experts Aquarium Filter Floss for Fish Tank Filters - FilterFirst Aquarium Filter Pad - Media Roll for Crystal Clear Water, 3/4" - 1" Thick (12 Inch Wide, 72 Inch Long) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91ISs2xFxvL.jpg) ![Aquatic Experts Aquarium Filter Floss for Fish Tank Filters - FilterFirst Aquarium Filter Pad - Media Roll for Crystal Clear Water, 3/4" - 1" Thick (12 Inch Wide, 72 Inch Long) - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/919L-g19yCL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Which side of your Premium Filter Pad should the water go through first?** A: The water should flow through the open or looser fiber side of our premium pad first. This will allow the larger debris to be trapped before entering the tight weaved lower section of the pad. **Q: How often should I change my aquarium filter pad?** A: Rinse the filter pad every two weeks and replace them monthly during a water change. The more often you change filter pads the better your water quality; filter pads remove organic solids before they have a chance to further break down. **Q: What is the best way to use your FilterFirst filter pad and your 100 micron Polishing Pad together?** A: Your aquarium water should flow first through the FilterFirst pad to remove small to large particles from the water, then through the polishing pad to remove fine particles. This layering method will increase the useful life of your polishing pad. **Q: I am using your Dual Density filter pad in my canister filter. What is the easiest way to make these shapes?** A: Take your original filter pad which came with the canister filter and cut out a piece of card board the exact size and shape. Now put the cardboard on our FilterFirst roll, use a pair of scissors and cut around the cardboard template. **Q: Would I need to remove FilterFirst filter pad from my filter when medicating fish?** A: No, you do not need to remove our Premium filter pad when medicating your fish. Our filter pad does not remove any medication or other chemicals from the water. The pad only traps debris floating in the water. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value filter option that works. *by L***P on 16 September 2020* Used in my sump and over head filters, using a template it’s easy to cut to any shape desired. I have found they can be rinsed out a few times before you need to to replace (but this will depend on your particular setup) Great value. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Parfait *by P***K on 14 May 2025* Parfait ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow! Never have I been able to get/keep such clear water! Wish I had bought sooner! *by M***V on 23 August 2024* So i 've had this aquarium for maybe 15 yrs and have never really been able to get crystal clear water. Even after large water changes. Unfortunately, recently it had become more and more of a issue cuz i got koi, they got big, and they re dirty fish. Went as far as was doing daily water changes to try and keep up. Sadly, feel this led to the death of one of my babies. Bright Side: Death of my Baby got me even more motivated to not give up on fish. Beforehand I was just trying to keep them from living in their own muck (sidenote: I thought I'd have them in a pond in my own house but 2020 hit and that kinda sent those plans out the window). Now, because I feel guilty about klilling my remaining koi's buddy, I am raising some new friends for him/her. Part of that process was trying to solve the dirty water problem and thannks to an online fish forum, we stumbled upon this filter floss. Been using it for more than a week now, i think. Same pads. I used to wash my filters in the sink but read up on how you should instead wash them in their own water (fish tank water) and basically only aim for getting the big stuff off the sides. Very important to promote the "good bacterial" growth. But in all my years, nothing as clear as this water and the fish seem happier(moving around more and eating more/different foods). Trying to pair this with a few plants but the workhorse is def' the Filter Floss. If you re on the fence, get this Floss. It will make your fish happier and healthier; it will lead to less anxiety about tank maintenance; you will enjoy your fish tank even more. Remember to: Clean filters in aquarium water and NOT tap water; Aim for trying to promote good bacteria and healthy tank ecosystem; Spread the word so that maybe you can help save someone else from the heartache of losing fish from bad water. Hope this helps someone!
