## Description

Noodler's Ink Black Bottled Ink Refill

## Questions & Answers

**Q: If the ink is waterproof, do you need to use something other than water to clean your pen?**
A: The ink sticks to paper like glue, but washes off most surfaces with water. I use a plastic pen with a steel nib, and blotting/cleaning is just like any other ink. I've even found that it stains my skin less than some non-waterproof inks.

**Q: is it in a glass or plastic bottle?**
A: As of end-Sep 2015 it is in a plastic bottle that looks like the white one in the image. The owner of Noodler's has said that this is because glass supply has become unreliable in recent months. One good thing is that you actually get a bit more ink per bottle (despite them all being labelled 3oz) with the plastic ones, and better light protection!

**Q: Lamy said my leak could be because of this ink. Any other Lamy owners experience this problem?**
A: I've never had a leak in any of my Lamy pens, I use a Vista with noodlers in it at work, and I drop it constantly (it looks horrifying because of that) and aside from impact related ink splatter within the cap I have Never had a problem, I would suggest trying a different converter, or pull it apart and clean the feed, check for hair, or something wicking the ink out.

**Q: Is this supposed to smell bad? mine smells so bad, i stopped using it. please let me know if this is normal~! thanks**
A: There is a slight chemical odor present when smelled from the bottle; however once it is written on paper, it should off-gas pretty fast and not be noticeable at all. I have never had a foul smelling Noodlers ink (just smelled all the inks I have currently in stock). If you purchased it from us please contact us and we will be glad to honour a refund. -Oliva Pens

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice ink.
*by S***M on 1 March 2011*

I am not an expert on ink or fountain pens. I use this with a Lamy Safari Demonstrator and an EF nib, with the converter. Have been using it for about a month, almost daily during that time. At first the ink was drying dark grey. I was disappointed. Then I started using a different kind of paper and refilling the converter by dipping the nib into the ink instead of trying to refill the converter by itself. After that, black ink. I suspect it was more the paper than the ink filling method that made the ink black or gray. It's been a nice black on every paper I have used it on since that first day though. Waterproof. Dries very quickly (almost instantly) on every paper I have used it on, even - to my surprise - parchment. Smudge proof almost immediately - within about a second for me. Flows nicely. Nice density. And even though I am going through it rather quickly at one refill every four days (as I am filling up a very detailed research journal which must be archival), there is still lots and lots left. You do get nib creep, but that doesn't do anything. I don't care if there's ink on the nib. I care if it writes smoothly, is waterproof, and works well in my pen. It does. So...as far as I know about pens and ink... I would say this is the best I have used. Take that as you will, since my experience is not extensive with fountain pens.
