HALO Seal was created to treat tension pneumothorax, the second leading cause of preventable death on the battlefield. Halo Seal, an occlusive dressing, is durable with an aggressive adhesive, easy to use and performs in a wide range of operational environments.HALO GelHighly effective medical grade hydrogel that allows HALO Seal to stick in wet, bloody, sandy or harsh environments. Features scrim, a non-woven material that is added to the HALO hydrogel to keep the gel from migrating in high heat environments. Temperature range of -30 to 140 degrees F. Outer Tape EdgeTape edge is more forgiving when handling with gloved or bare hands. Studies show that the outer tape edge has a wider operating temperature range and performs extremely well in freezing and elevated temperatures Size and ShapeCovers a greater surface area, and aids in coverage of larger, unpredictable wound patterns. Oval shape allows for greater adherence around the contours of the body. Large pull tab allows for effective placement and wound burping. PackagingDurable packaging is impenetrable to water, air, gases, and is puncture and tear resistant. Material can be used as an additional occlusive barrier, by using tape to secure the barrier. Idk, it sits in my trauma kit. It's a halo seal. Since I haven't been shot in the chest (Hopefully never need this), I can't really say how well it works. lol

Very high quality adhesive, large coverage area and great product overall. If you don't have a specific need for this and you're buying it for part of an IFAK this is a great addition. You never know what's going to happen in this crazy world and having this item can really save the day. It can be used for other things than just a chest deal. It will work perfect if that is the issue but can also be used to held a Celox pack over a sever cut or any other kind of rough edge open wound. It really should be in any well stocked trauma kit. I have one in my backpack that I carry daily and one at home. They very light and take up almost no space. You can never have too much first aid gear, you never know when you'll need it.
