We hesitated for so long because of the mixed reviews but loved Underwater Cities so it seemed worth trying out. It’s nothing like Underwater Cities which has many of the similar satisfying moves that Praga has but done in an entirely different way.The best part about this game that makes it so addicting is the chain reactions you can cause, making a single move in a turn that sets of multiple other moves can be done as well. (I advance a technology that gives me a bonus window that I can combine with a golden window for a second turn for free which gives me a research tile (the Roman numeral books) that gives me a third turn all in one spin of the action wheel) It’s just the right length for us (we only play two player) that moves quickly and is constantly engaging. Moves my husband makes I’m paying attention to, hoping he doesn’t score the city bonus I’ve been eyeballing for a while or takes the tile i realize will fit perfectly in my strategy.There’s never a dull move you make in this game. It constantly feels rewarding as you build up your engine and progress along the egg bridge. That move that feels like a perfect fit to your puzzle happens every game, whether you win or lose.I’m pretty much convinced after playing underwater cities and praga that Suchy can’t do no wrong.
