I use this with a stock Breville 800ESXL 51mm portafilter and it fits and functions just fine. I grind fresh beans, so I needed to get away from the pressurized filters that came with it. The result has been a better cup and I've eliminated the bitterness. You may wish to buy a bottomless portafilter, but I haven't had the need to and it fits just fine in the stock PF without any modifications.
