Medical protocol on tourniquet application changes from time to time. As of now, the tourniquet protocol for citizen basic first aid allows it's use under certain circumstances (Be sure to check your local protocol). I like the SWAT-T tourniquet in this ResQue 1st Trauma & Auto Emergency First Aid Kit. It is easy to use and is very easy to understand the instructions (It's printed right on the tourniquet itself). The QuikClot bandage is also a "must have" for major trauma incidents. All in all, this is a good buy and is a quality item. Note: If you purchase this kit, be sure to take it with you if you enroll in a First Aid class, and show it to your instructor - he or she will love it too. Please attend a First Aid course of your choice and get certified - It is well worth it, and you will be well trained to serve your family, friends, and the public when necessary. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Small, light, easily carried; and comprehensive with a few easy additions. *by M***1 on November 29, 2015* I ordered two of these kits, one for myself and one for our daughter to carry in her car. I already have a big first aid kit in the toolbox of my truck, I wanted a small package that had "the good stuff" for dealing with trauma. This fits the bill handily. It will easily slip into my briefcase or other carry bag, but contains all the essentials for helping deal with a medical trauma small to medium. My pediatrician wife checked the contents out and approved, and then we added these items to make the kit a bit more complete for all-around use:Antiseptic wash, with 2% lidocaineBand-aids, misc. size & shapesOTC medications (Aspirin, 325mg; Benadryl, 25mg; Ibuprofen, 200mg; Naproxen, 220mg; Zyrtec, 10mg.)Trauma shearsTriple antibiotic creamWoundSeal pour pack (quick clot powder)We also typed up a Contents list and will laminate it and tape it on the outside of the pouch so it's immediately apparent what's inside.Everything fits in, albeit snugly, and this kit makes for a fairly comprehensive, easily carried package. As a former photography instructor, I used to tell my students the "best camera" is the one "you have in your hand when you see the picture." I think the same holds true for first-aid kits, the best one is the one you have with you when you need it.
