You will miss some things, especially iron, but I have found lots of coins and jewelry at the beach with mine. **Q: i live by the beach will this affect performance ?** A: Not at all, I have owned metal detectors for over 30 years and this is by far the best performing detector I have ever had, better than my $1500 Whites detector!!
