First I used a course stone to get rid of the powder coat on the blade, then sharpened the blade. The handle was a bit too slippery, so I used a rasp to rough it up and give it some grip. As others have reported, the saw blade tries to pop open when you're using the axe to chop, so I added a few ranger bands to prevent that from happening. I also wrapped a bit of #18 bank line around the neck just because. Finally, the nylon sheath that came with this is beyond terrible, I tore it apart with my hands and made a functional one out of some scrap leather. I'm planning on upgrading the saw blade, it looks like the might be enough space to slide a spare blade into the handle, and it'd be super secure with all of those ranger bands. The smallest socket hole on the blade functions as a bit holder, but the bits just fall out, so I'm planning on gluing a tiny button magnet into the hole so the bits stay in. One issue I can't resolve is that the sharp edge of the hammer/claw is in the perfect place to cut up your wrist when you're trying to use the saw.
