Review: Very good - Works very well .. Was easy to install Nice and compact Review: Finally, a way to watch the "special features" on my 2004 Shrek 2 DVD! 10/10 - bought this Craig Compact DVD player because I found a box of DVDs in my attic and my modern TV doesn't have a slot for them. I tried to feed a Finding Nemo DVD into my HDMI port, but it didn't work. This amazing piece of technology, however, did! Pros: Ultra-lightweight: It weighs less than my TV remote. I can probably use it as a coaster when I’m not watching The Matrix. Nostalgia Factor: The loud, angry whirring noise it makes when it loads a disc reminds me of 2003. It's like a tiny, aggressive robot is in my living room. The Remote: It has buttons for things I don't understand, like "Zoom" and "Slow," which is great for analyzing movies frame-by-frame. Compatibility: Plays my burned CD-R from 2005 labelled "BEST MIX 4 EVER". Cons: It does not stream Netflix. The "progressive scan" feature mostly means it slowly progresses to scanning the disc, then pauses, then makes a weird noise, then finally plays the movie. If you are trying to relive the era of having to get up to turn a disc over, this is the machine for you. It’s small, it’s cheap, and it’s gloriously outdated. 5 stars, would recommend for a cozy, analog movie night. ## Features - Item Category: Video Disc Player - Item Trademark: GENERIC - manufacturer: Generic ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00A71YOQI | | Audio Output Mode | Digital | | Brand | Craig | | Compatible Devices | Television | | Connectivity Technology | USB | | Connectivity technology | USB | | Connector Type | HDMI | | Connector type | HDMI | | Customer Reviews | 4.0 out of 5 stars 10,366 Reviews | | File Format | JPEG | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00731398415120 | | Item Weight | 0.01 Ounces | | Item weight | 0.01 Ounces | | Manufacturer | Craig | | Media Type | CD, DVD | | Media type | CD , DVD | | Mfr Part Number | CVD512a | | Model Number | CVD512a | | Number of Channels | 2 | | Other Special Features of the Product | Progressive Scan | | Special features | Progressive Scan | | UPC | 731398415120 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Craig - **Connectivity technology:** USB - **Connector type:** HDMI - **Media type:** CD, DVD - **Special features:** Progressive Scan ## Images ![Craig Electronics Craig Compact DVD/JPEG/CD-R/CD-RW/CD Player with Remote (CVD512a) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61-WbQKAyFL.jpg) ![Craig Electronics Craig Compact DVD/JPEG/CD-R/CD-RW/CD Player with Remote (CVD512a) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71iyOaIU+qL.jpg) ![Craig Electronics Craig Compact DVD/JPEG/CD-R/CD-RW/CD Player with Remote (CVD512a) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71GKp2Ru6QL.jpg) ![Craig Electronics Craig Compact DVD/JPEG/CD-R/CD-RW/CD Player with Remote (CVD512a) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61hJ3OWLVCL.jpg) ![Craig Electronics Craig Compact DVD/JPEG/CD-R/CD-RW/CD Player with Remote (CVD512a) - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71qb8gmooSL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: does this unit have a optical out** A: No it doesn't, I received my CVD512a today 12/17/17, it has no optical output I'm sending it back, it was the most important feature for me. This item desperately needs a picture of the back of the unit. I think I've learned an important lesson, do not buy audio/stereo without a picture of the back of the unit. **Q: Can you hook this to a stereo to only play CD's?** A: I used to play DVD movie and it works fine. I never tried hook this to stereo but I think it can do as it has audio jack as well **Q: How do i change my credit card number have a new on same address** A: Dont give out your ard number to anone, call your credit card issuer/bank or go in person to have it changed. You can add it as a new payment method on your account. But never give it out to anyone, especially here. Dont listen to that person that said to give it to them, and they'll change it. **Q: Do I need to purchase any additional cables for this DVD player? I have a standard flat screen.** A: I don't know about needing more or different ones. I have an older TV so I just used the cables that were sent with it. Sorry, I couldn't be more help. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good *by L***N on 12 December 2025* Works very well ..
