For the price, its a great buy. **Q: is this a mono or stereo microphone?** A: Hi .. this is a mono mic. made for desk or podium use in front of a speaker. It is a pro output XLR connector so will need a low (mic level) input or mixer to work. For the price can't be beat. We use their system of, I think 8 mics for roundtable conferences. They work great. **Q: What do I need in between microphone and speaker? What device?** A: You will need an amplifier to run the microphone into and the speakers out of.
