It does not work for them. I ordered this pencil sharpener in hopes that they would fit because it said up to 8.2mm but the sharpener I received only fit average sized pencils. Even trying to put caran d'ache pencils into the sharpener I had to forcefully push to get them in. It works for Carbothello pastel pencils fine but does not get a super sharp point no matter how you adjust the sharpener. You have to use the sandpaper to get a super sharp point. **Q: What color pencil brands fit? caran d ache, derwent, prismacolor?** A: I have used it for my Prismacolor set and it works wonderfully with it. In fact it is the only one I will use with them because it sharpens them without breaking the lead! I highly recommend this sharpener and they also gave me one free for reviewing it. But it does work wonderfully! **Q: Is this blade made in germany & if not which sharpener with a german blade is, please? i am looking for a sharpener for luminance color pencils. thank** A: This sharpener has a German blade https://smile.amazon.com/Blackwing-One-Step-Long-Point-Sharpener/dp/B0877CRHPY/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=long+point+Pencil+Sharpeners&qid=1631743543&s=office-products&sr=1-4 **Q: Is it easy to take apart if lead gets stuck?** A: Hello thee. It's easy to access the blade area of the sharpener thou I haven't lost a pencil point yet. ## Frequently Bought Together - AFMAT Long Point Pencil Sharpener, 8-20mm Long Pencil Nibs, Self-Feed & Adjustable Pencil Sharpness, Artist Pencil Sharpener Manual for φ6-8.2mm Charcoal/Art/Drawing/Sketching/Colored Pencils - Faber-Castell Erasers - Drawing Art kneaded Erasers, Large Size Grey - 4 Pack - 2 Pieces Carpenter Long Point Manual Pencil Sharpener with Plastic Lid 4 Holes Handheld Sharpener for Sketching, Charcoal, Colored Pencils (Transparent) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/260445465-afmat-long-point-pencil-sharpener-artist-pencil-sharpener-manual-drawing](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/260445465-afmat-long-point-pencil-sharpener-artist-pencil-sharpener-manual-drawing) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
