I was using a Nooelec NESDR Mini USB RTL-SDR & ADS-B Receiver that currently costs about the same as this dongle and it only cover half the distance. I recommend this dongle if you're looking to increase your distance. setup was easy as I just unplugged the old dongle and plugged this one in. I shut down my raspberry pi first, installed the new dongle, then restarted the pi. I immediately noticed a difference. For the money, this is a great upgrade. It works perfectly. Very occasionally I run into a problem where the Pi will stop receiving data due to it not being able to detect the stick, but I'm not sure if this is due to the FlightStick, the Pi itself or the USB adapter cable.
