They are LED's should last 20+ years if you used it everyday. **Q: Where do you find the tracing paper for the Crayola Light Up Pad?** A: As others said, you don't need tracing paper, regular copy paper will do, most any regular paper. Just use standard 8.5X11. Here's a thing tho- if the original photo or image you want to lay on the light board and lay paper over to trace is ITSELF too thick- say a photo or heavy glossy magazine paper (though regular magazine pages actually work)? Just photocopy the image you want to trace. Then put the copy paper copy on the board, and blank / plain copy paper over it to trace. :) **Q: What age is this for** A: You'd have to set it up FOR a toddler but there's no upper age limit. I'm a full grown up and I use this. I actually have a lightboard larger regular light board- a single flat plastic LED sheet "for grown ups'. BUT- this 'kids toy' has several advantages: 1- unlike my 'adult person' light board, I got the Amber board, which switches to amber in low light situations- which I find a lot easier to use, plus it doesn't have distracting bright light- leak on the edges. ALSO - because it has edges, takes 8.5" x11 paper- I don't have to tape the paper down or worry about it shifting around as much, when I trace.
