Review: Secure mount, even for a larger tank - I bought this knowing that it may be at the upper edge of tank diameter, but was able to mount an 8 gallon (30 litre) expansion tank with 13.8" (350 mm) diameter, and it worked quite well. The main thing to keep in mind with the two straps is, if you want the clamp fasteners to line up (aesthetically, but not functionally important), then don't tighten a strap and then loosen it to move the fitting. Once you tighten a strap, it will get a couple of minor kinks where it goes through the wall bracket, so it's difficult to move after it's been tightened once. If the propane tank is on the ground then it will work as an earthquake strap.
