The weight of it is astoundingly light and feels well built. Once in motion it seems quite effortless to continue down your path. The blades feel quite natural when cutting into the water's surface and nicely relaxed.Honestly I was skeptical at first try due to the outer diameter of the aluminum shaft that is the handle. But the foam padding/hand grips flushes out to a very comfortable feel of 1.25"The drip rings do sometimes like to slide down the shaft crowding your hands and thus getting the paddler slightly wet. This is easily fixed with a few zip ties that are 1/8" wide and set inside the 'rib' of said drip rings. Very pleased for the price, and ordered another the day after first trying the new paddle/oar.
