When I put it on the highest level and close the door. You can definitely hear it. It works great so far. Long story: I bought the AC Infinity AXIAL fan not realizing it didnt have a speed controller. So I bought the controller separately instead. I’m pretty sure you can find the fan and controller together for a reasonable price. I just didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning the fan and then buying the two things together. Anyway, I kept it on the lowest level all night. The cabinet door was closed - I barely heard it. I’m a light sleeper so I need this to be as quiet as possible if it is on overnight. Works great! I created my own FABRIKOR greenhouse cabinet this summer for my tropical plants that need moderate to high levels of humidity. I had everything I needed except for a fan for ventilation. So, I bought portable fans thinking those would do the trick. I was wrong. The two that I bought lowered the temperature and humidity levels. I decided leave it a without a ventilation fan. However, after 6-7 months the cabinet started to smell a little musty. I needed something quiet and small. Something that wouldn’t change the temperature or humidity inside the cabinet. Not sure if it’s a coincidence but it somehow increased the humidity. The mounting piece is not included.
