Like others have said, these just don't last. So, the other negative claims here were right, and I was wrong when I first wrote my review. I guess it was just a matter of not too much time at all before the pink caps of my nail soakers cracked and pretty much crumbled away from the use of acetone to soak off my gel manicure. Why the heck would companies keep selling these if they knew that they wouldn't last? Well, if you didn't have any scruples and just focused on the bottom line for your business, wouldn't you do the same? No? Well, I guess you've got better business morals than others selling these here!Mine didn't melt or stain my fingers pink or anything, but in my last manicure prep, four of my ten cracked and tore clean down an entire side from where either small cracks had formed in my previous soaking session, or where no damage was apparent. The hard translucent plastic wells evidenced no damage, but there's just no way to hold them onto your fingers once the pink caps are gone, so into the trash they all went after the final soaking session during which I tried to balance them on my hardwood table in a plastic tray, trying to make sure the wood finish took no damage. Not worth the risk again, or the purchase price. Off to hunt for an aluminum soaking tray or three...Not worth the cost. Look for another soak-off solution!~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~I purchased mine from WellGoal and, honestly, I don't get what all the negative fuss and melodrama are about regarding these nail soakers.I've had my gel nail manicure tools for about a month now, and have just done my third manicure with them (I actually have found that I tire of the color far sooner than it starts to show signs of wear). The first time I took my polish off (before I'd received my soakers), I decided to try the soaked-lint-free-quartered-pads-wrapped-in-cut-tinfoil-strips method, and it was a bit of an ordeal laying the soaked pads just so over my nails, and trying to wrap my fingers in foil by myself. The foil seems to activate the acetone polish remover, as my fingers got cold enough that they felt as if they were being refrigerated while wrapped in the foil. After about 25 minutes sitting like that, the edges of my manicure began to peel up, but it was nothing like the result after the same 20 to 25 minutes sitting with my fingers in these soakers.As others have suggested, I tore cotton balls into pieces - one jumbo ball, when unrolled, gave me enough cotton for five soakers - then soaked them in just enough acetone-based polish remover to saturate the cotton (be careful that you don't add too much polish remover - mine squished out of the soakers that I'd overfilled, but I made sure to fill and apply them in the bathroom, where my furniture wouldn't get damaged by the acetone-based remover). I initially tried positioning the pink plastic caps on my fingers, then tried pushing my fingers into the clear plastic bases, and lining up the lid with the base while my fingers were in position - not such a good idea. I ended up taking my fingers back out of the pink caps, reattaching the caps to the bases, then simply pushed my fingers into each soaker one at a time, moving my finger to guide the soaked cotton over top of my manicure. I "burped" each soaker by just barely squeezing the plastic cap around my fingers, and, after a perfectly comfortable 20 to 25 minutes of soaking, a good 75% of the polish on each finger had soaked off and adhered to the cotton in each little tub, making it super simple to gently push off the remainder using an old orangewood stick.I made a point of getting some of my acetone-based polish on the pink caps that came in my soaker set, and none of them show any signs of deterioration yet. For the ease and effectiveness of my gel polish removal, these soakers are worth every penny, many times over! And they are perfectly comfortable! I have medium-sized hands for a woman (my middle finger takes a size 8 ring), and I felt no discomfort while wearing these soakers. No circulation got cut off, my hands didn't turn blue, the soakers weren't so tight that my fingers went numb - none of that in my experience.After use, I rinsed my soakers in water, and left them in a small open tub to air dry, and I'm ready for my next manicure! These DID come to me from China, as stated by the seller, so they took about three or so weeks to get here, but they arrived right on time for my second polish removal session, and just in time to prove that THIS is the easier, and preferable, way to get my polish off!A must-have for the gel manicure maven! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Gel polish soak off *by D***J on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on July 27, 2013* Bought these a few months ago and they arrived quickly even though they shipped from overseas. Thought they would be perfect for soaking off my at home gel manicures. I had been using the trays to soak the gel polish off but found that I wasted a lot of acetone polish since the trays are quite large. When I received the nail soakers, they looked just as they were advertised.What I found upon using them was that the rubber lip around the rim of the opening was quite dry and more than half of them fell apart. The problem with this is that they don't form a tight seal around the finger and they either leak or fall off. Due to this, they ended up being similar to the trays since I had to use the soakers on a table pressing my fingers into them rather than a relaxed position.After giving a negative review, the seller contacted me with a choice of either a refund or a replacement after removing the negative review. I asked for a refund (even though it wasn't much) since I did not think a new set would be a better quality. I would have gladly paid more for a higher quality item! After receiving a full refund, I did remove the review.Since I shop Amazon quite a bit and depend on the reviews heavily, I thought I would add my own review to help others decide if they will find this product useful. I give credit to the seller for being prompt with delivery and customer service but would recommend a higher quality control on this product. ### ⭐⭐ Beware if you use pure acetone... *by S***T on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on November 24, 2013* Okay, this is my problem with these. Yes, I imagine that they would work well with regular finger nail polish remover. However, it is advertised as resistant to acetone, which is not the case. The first time I tried soaking my glitter nail polish off with these "acetone resistant " nail soakers, the acetone dissolved the pink section of the nail soakers, and became unusable before the acetone even dissolved the nail polish off of my fingers. It was a complete surprise to me, because at first I believed that I must have not put them on tight enough, but that made absolutely no sense in my brain, so looking at it after taking it off, I realized that the entire pink part of the soakers were dissolving, so obviously they must NOT be acetone resistant. The clear part is okay, but it kind of defeats the purpose when the clear part will not stay on because the pink part has thinned out and almost literally dissolved within maybe 120 second, or less. I was puzzled. I don't get it. It just seems a bit useless to me. Maybe it should specify that only the clear part is resistant to acetone (but then, what is the purpose if it will not stay on your fingers?) Maybe it should be advertised as fingernail polish remover resistant as opposed to acetone resistant, because acetone resistant, it is not. I don't know.
