Review: Perfect size and functional - I love that this item was far less expensive on desertcart than in stores (like $20 difference). Well made and doesn't really get too hot, but it's lightweight and perfect for smaller pattern pieces. I haven't let it run to test the auto shut off, but I did notice that the light will turn on if it's plugged in, though this does not mean that it is turned on. So make sure to turn it on.
Review: Great for Applique and Small Sewing Projects - I have one of the little metal irons and have rarely used it because I'm afraid of burning myself as I tend to get up close and personal with my applique and sewing projects. I saw this iron in a video by Simple Bird Studios where she had her fingers right up against the top of the iron, exactly where I kept wanting to put mine. I immediately found it for less on desertcart. I've only done a couple of projects with this little iron but I love it. The temperatures work for the kind of sewing and applique I do. The little built in metal stand doesn't work so well but I copied from Simple Bird by putting it in a flan ramekin (a roughly 3 to 4 inch across dish with straight sides approx 1 in high) so the iron head hangs out and the rest hangs across the top of the dish with the stand in the closed position and it works perfectly. A friend repurposed an old ashtray. There are four heat settings and I use #3 for my cottons and have no problem getting the seam to set. For applique I "paint" on some starch with a small brush and then iron the seam - works perfectly. Thank you for a really nifty little gadget that works perfectly for me.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: For those who have used both, how does this compare to the Clover mini-iron w/ different tips?**
A: This is a late answer, but for anyone else who is wondering... I have both and use both for different things. This dritz one heats up much, much faster than the clover, but it's also a bit bulkier. The clover one can get into much smaller areas which is more helpful to me when making purses. For any projects that aren't too difficult to get to, the dritz one is my go to as it's so much quicker to heat up. Any real difficult areas to get to, I wait for the clover to heat up. I also use the clover for things like heat cutting with the hot razor attachment and for molding paper or fabric flowers with the ball attachment.

For safety, this one seems to be a little safer as the clover has more hot areas that are exposed. But let's face it, they're irons and you have to use caution with both of them. Hope this helps!

**Q: Voltage 220 or 110V?**
A: Here in the US the standard is 110V with a couple of breakers set up with 220 for the dryer and such. You can tell a 220 because they're the ones with the big plug with tines that come out in a triangle. I believe the EU uses 220. Adapters have to be used when you jump the pond.

**Q: How big is the iron face and what does it mean by adjustable?**
A: I just measured the face of the iron to be sure. It is 1 inch wide at the widest point. It is 2 1/2 inches long and the point is very small. There are two adjustments, one is the wire bar that holds it up (so the face does not burn whatever it is sitting on) the other is the heat adjustment. This iron heats fast and if you keep a spray bottle of water nearby to add some steam it works great. It shuts off automatically as well. I have never burned myself on this iron.

**Q: How does this iron work for very small applique pieces?**
A: It's appropriately designed for small piece ironing.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect
*by R***E on October 20, 2021*

I bought this because I haven't used my real iron in years (maybe decades?), and when I went to use it to iron on a patch, I found that my husband had used it for one of his projects, leaving some sort of sticky black goop all over it. I'm not cleaning that. So instead, I bought this. It's perfect for tiny projects, it is small so it stores easily, it gets plenty hot, it's light, and it has its own built-in stand. It's very easy to maneuver and control. It'd be perfect for any sort of spot-ironing you have to do, like cuffs and seams and crafts. I was surprised at the quality of it.
