Review: Do buy these. 10/10. - 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone who has issues playing the Vita cause of the lack of grip. Very comfortable for anyone with giants hands like myself. Great grip and feel. Doesn't feel overly cheap even though it is all plastic. Sturdy. No plastic creaking. Amazing battery life. Easily over 20 hours or more of play time on a full charge. I've gotten as much as 30 hours of play time before the handles battery ran dry and it started to use the Vita battery. The handle batteries do take ages to charge but that is what gives you the incredible play time. Best charged overnight or while at work. I've seen other reviews complaining about the solder coming loose on the charging port from using the Vita while charging. This could be an issue. I have not encountered it in the year I've owned these, though as I do not play my Vita while charging it. I don't use anything electronic while charging it as it is bad for any device and the charge port. So like I said before, best charged while sleeping overnight or at work. It leaves all the ports on the Vita open but the game slot and the sd slot. If you remove your game or sd card often, it will get in the way but to release the handles, there is a simple lever on the bottom with an unlock/lock symbol. Just slide it unlocked, the bottom cradle with the mini usb slides down and the Vita is free. And every time I do this, the Vita feels small and fragile. The handles give it a feeling of girth and safety. Your thumbs will will tend to cover the speakers as you play anything that requires full use of the d-pad and buttons. The analog sticks leave the speakers clear though. Rear camera and touch pad left open as well. They work fine.
Review: The grip is good but it no longer charges. - The Vita is so small, this grip makes it much easier to play and hold, and it has an extra battery built in that helps me play many more hours between charges.. It worked great for a few months. My Vita lasted so much longer, I rarely had to charge it. Then one day I plugged it in and heard a *click* and now it won't charge and the plug is all loose and wiggles. The grip still works great, but I can't charge it so it goes from 5 starts to 2 stars. I have yet to contact Nyko to see about a replacement but I will update this review when I do. EDIT: I emailed Nyko and they said to send it to them so they can check if it is broken and replace it if necessary. I don't like the idea of having to pay to ship it to them, but if it is replaced I guess it's a small price to pay. I will update as things progress.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I own this and love it, but is there a carrying case that will fit this snugly all together?**
A: http://www.amazon.com/PSVita-Pull-Folio-Sony-PS-Vita/dp/B0072A4JTYIt fits in there pretty comfortably without the need to buy any other holders for the console or the games, unlike the Amazon Basics one which I also have and holds everything loosely. The pull n go is definitely the way to go. It's also 25 dollars cheaper at gamestop than on here. Good luck.

**Q: hey guys does this fit the newer model vita? i have that one and im having trouble finding good accessories**
A: Yes, this is for the Vita PCH-2000 which is the new slim model. The original Vita is the PCH-1000.

**Q: Does it work with the older model?**
A: No. There is a power grip that is specifically for the older model though. It's well worth it to find one. The battery life is phenomenal! Search for Nyko Power Grip Vita 1000 and you'll find it.

**Q: If the battery on the Power Grip is fully charged will it charge my Vita when plugged in?**
A: I'm not exactly sure how it supplies power to the vita but I can say when it's in the grip and both are charged up (they charge together when plugged in) it just lasts a whole lot longer. The Vita doesn't show the charging icon however so my thought is it uses up the charge on the grip's battery first and then starts using the internal battery.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sweet Relief for my Banana-hands: Vita Slim Model
*by P***C on May 15, 2014*

Only after purchasing the PS Vita-Slim did I realize that Sony's target market for the device was Asian Pygmy Monkeys and humans with hands of the equivalent scale. After two days of Borderlands, I was walking around like a T-Rex with carpal tunnel. I decided to purchase a grip. THE PDP GRIP: I purchased the PDP grip at my local game stop and quickly discovered that the target demographic had not changed, and it was indeed the perfect solution if you happened to be an Asian Pygmy Monkey with very large hands; Sadly, I am not. NYKO POWER GRIP: Ordered this the same day I purchased/returned the PDP grip, got it next day, and WOW, what a difference. PROS: This is a much better fit if you have larger hands. 1. The grips extend down past the bottom of the device placing the thumbs in a better position for the analog thumb sticks. 2. The grips remain rounded all the way up to the top of the device with a perfectly placed indention in the grip to support your index fingers when they are not in use mashing the bumper buttons. The PDP grip on the other hand was just two nubs at the base on the unit, and then it was flat to the back of the Vita all the way to the triggers providing no additional girth to grip with your fingers further up the device. 3. No Triggers: I thought this would be a con, but the shape of the grip puts your index fingers in good position to use the bumper buttons without trigger add-ons. This is far more responsive than the trigger mods on the PDP grip, as there was a fair amount of play in the trigger buttons, and you really had to mash them to get them to fire. 4. The built in battery pack: Wow, I was expecting this to be marginally functional, but I have to say, it really does double your battery life, and it drains the battery on the grip first, so your main Vita battery is used last. I've only been using it for a few days so I can't comment on its long term durability. 5. Vita Slim Redesign: I noticed that in the old model some people complained that the grip covered the memory slot and that there was some play in the fit. I was pleased to find that the fit on the Vita-slim is very snug, and the memory card slot is now accessible. CONS: Still not perfect 1. If you are expecting this grip to fit in your hand as comfortably as a console controller, you will be disappointed. The grip is excellent, but the real limitations come from the design and layout of the Vita itself. I love the Vita, but the button layout is awkward at best and painful at worst. The grip helps with this. 2. A little thicker grips would be nice, but again, that is going to be largely dependent on the size of the individual's hands, so they probably picked the best size for the majority of people (much like Sony probably chose the average size for the pygmy monkeys in their focus groups). 3. Don't care for the matte-finish. Not aesthetically, but functionally. It tends to slip in your hands slowly. A gloss plastic finish would have been more "grippy?" So that is my biggest complaint, better finish to keep the hands from slipping. Maybe some sticky rubber insets or something. OVER ALL: If you have Wreck-It-Ralph size hands, this will vastly improve your Vita experience.
