**Q: Apologies, my question has been misunderstood, I am referring to the adjustable straps at the back of the back of the bag, attached to bottom buckle?**
A: The common length of the strap is about 44 cm, you couldn't go shorter than that. From there on you can adjust down to the bottom with the buckle.

The rucksack is suitable for a wide group of people, both adults and teenagers, I wouldn't go for it for a very small child however.
