BUT installed you can not tell! I think they look great and the price is a bonus. You can really bend and mangle them a bit and they bounce back to their original shape and I used kids scissors to cut them. This was also the best price I found on the internet for the number of tiles I needed. While the tiles are easy to cut, they weren’t as easy to install as I had hoped. The tiles are so thin that they will bend if you try to force them into a tight spot. That said, they’re no more frustrating than the old tiles. Just be prepared to spend time on your project. Since these are so lightweight I just put them WITH my old ceiling tiles. The weight of the old tiles keeps these from jumping or shifting when the door slams. All mine came in perfect condition. To cut them I used a very sharp box cutter and didn’t have any problems. We have a ceiling air vent in one of our tiles. These are not sturdy enough for that so, again, I just left the old sturdy tile and put a new one with a cutout for the vent.
