Sometimes it is hard to find fresh pears in our local stores, and pears are one of only a few IC friendly fruits I can have, so I thought I would try these pear bars so I would always have fruit on hand. The bar is chewy and tastes of pear. It sticks to your teeth when you eat it and is not bad, but not great, either. It is the color of beef jerky, which is kind of odd... but since there is no ascorbic acid, I'm not complaining, as that ingredient can be irritating to me. Although I bought them for myself, my kids started eating them... and they actually LIKED them! I would give this product 3 stars because it is okay and IC friendly, but not great... But since my kids liked them, I'm adding a star. These are a great substitute when you don't have a piece of fruit available. I'm sure it would be better to eat the real thing, but these are very convenient for when you run out of fruit and don't have time to run to the store. I do love fruit and eat it all the time. However, I can't keep an extra piece of fruit at work for a "just in case" moment because the fruit will go bad eventually.
