This has pointed spikes that stick out of a rolling wheel that pierces the meat. The spikes are sharp. I like this tenderizer because it just rolls across the meat and you do not have to beat on the meat like with most tenderizers. This tenderizer has a metal handle that is perfect for gripping. This glides across the meat with ease. The only issue I has with it was that it was hard to clean inside of the roller and with the bacteria that is in meat, cleaning I very important.
