Will moisture get in this large container & cause the crystals to react & start to melt?** A: It's a screwtop and provides a good seal. I like it better than the bags. **Q: can you pour some in a pail? Would that work?** A: The DampRid FG37 Moisture Absorber Refill 7.5 lb. is not recommend for pouring in a pail. It can be poured into our 10.5 oz Refillable Moisture Absorber tub and the Mega 5 lb. Refillable containers. If you have other questions, please call our DampRid helpline at 1-888-326-7743. **Q: can the crystals be dried out and reused?** A: No .... this is a refill for smaller Damp rid containers There is a basket in the original container. The crystals go i there & as they absorb moisture in the air & Become liquid draining into the bottom. This refill is a huge bargain. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ perfect *by on Reviewed in the United Arab Emirates 23 January 2024* perfect ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ it is kind of like the poor man’s dehumidifier *by on Reviewed in the United States 11 June 2018* I’m in Houston. If you’re not familiar with DampRid, it is kind of like the poor man’s dehumidifier. We used to always answer issues of mildew/mold in the residence halls with, “Let’s just DampRid in there.”* I use Damp Rid a fair bit and had previously been buying the refill bags for all the cups I have.Things to know:1) This is more of a refill system, not stand alone. I would get a smaller Damp Rid, use it, save the container, and then refill it with this jug. It’s a jug, it’s huge, and it’s magical. You’re not going to use the jug as the means of collecting moisture.2) This is a lot better than the old system where the refill came in a plastic bag. I always would rip open the top wrong and was unable to re-seal it. This has a simple screw top lid.3) This appears to have more than the old refill bag that you would get. However, I filled up 5 cups the other day and still have a lot left over. I can honestly dump my Damp Rid buckets daily, but I don’t, and they keep for absorbing for about a week (again, high humidity area).4) The only recommendation I have is that the mouth of the container is large, which is nice, but it is actually larger than the older DampRid single shot containers. So, be mindful when you pour out the product that you don’t want to spill the dry particles anywhere.Things I use DampRid for:-Over the summer in my classroom, I put it in the cupboard, where I have some books and papers. Every year it keeps the cupboard/closet nice and dry. However, I’m careful and I know that if it tips over, the water isn’t really water, but more of a thick gel like substance that can ruin what it touches.-I put a container in my refrigerator whenever it is time to defrost it. Think of it as a bit of the old news paper in a fridge to dry up moisture trick. Except this time I don’t get ink all over everything and it lasts all summer to keep the fridge smell free when I turn it back on.-A random use is that I use DampRid to dry emulsion from screens quickly. You may have no idea what I’m talking about, which is cool, but if you’re someone who does screen-printing, a closet full of DampRid can serve you just as well as if you had a dehumidifier.*I just want to acknowledge that this not a way to kill mold, but it can be something preventative to suppress the growth of new mold in damp areas. It was also a running joke between us because our facilitates crew would never fix anything, so we had to give out DampRid tubs non-stop to at least slow down the mildew growth in students rooms. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great *by on Reviewed in Canada 4 December 2021* Use these every year when we store out boat. Prevents mildew. ## Frequently Bought Together - DampRid - Fragrance Free Mega Moisture Absorber Refill Container (7.5 lb.); Traps Moisture in Basements & Large Areas for Fresher, Cleaner Air - DampRid Refillable Moisture Absorber, 11 oz., 6-Pack – Fresh Scent Moisture Absorbers, 10% More Absorbing Power*, Eliminates Musty Odors for Fresher, Cleaner Air - DampRid Fresh Scent Hanging Moisture Absorber, 1 Pound (Pack of 3) - Eliminates Musty Odors for Fresher, Cleaner Air, Ideal for Closet, 14% More Moisture Absorbing Power*- Blue --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/280336741-damprid-fragrance-free-mega-moisture-absorber-refill-container-7-5](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/280336741-damprid-fragrance-free-mega-moisture-absorber-refill-container-7-5) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
