I used these for PEX-B and copper on either side of a spin down pre-filter. The FNPT part works the way they always do. I am paranoid so I used tape and joint compound. It is necessary to de-bur the pipe for the SharkBite end, or you can damage the O-ring inside the connecter. For the PEX side I understand that if you twist it as you push it in the inner sleeve will find its way into the pipe to support it. I didn't have the feel for this and damaged the first one I tried because it hung up on the PEX. So I took the one out of the copper end and stuck it in the PEX before pushing it into the connector. No more issue. I didn't have this issue with half inch ShrkBite connectors.63 crimps, 10 shark bites, 10 NTP connections and not one leak. There was a suggestion of moisture on the two NTP pressure gauge connections, so I gave them another complete turn and they dried out.
