NOT made as a super powerful high end "spotlight".Having said this, I use it all the time to find things in the dark outside, and for a general torch the light is fine and the battery life appears to be very good.The general construction is where this thing is amazing. The aluminimum is thick and very strong. It is well machined and is better than many more expensive torches I have seen. I noted the threaded ends are all O ring sealed, nice attention to detail. The rubber grip means you can hold it in your teeth if you need to go "hands free". All good points. It's waterproof, nice good size compartment built in for tinder or anything else you can fit in there. Its bright enough and feels good in your hand. Great to take along on a camping trip, hunting, nice BOB item, etc.. The only reason for the 4 rating is because they did not put some kind of protective cover over the bulb. The bulb is exposed and could break if dropped a certain way. Plus with it being exposed to the elements it just makes sense to have one.
