## Overview

Yellow Label Angel Yeast is a premium 500g active dry yeast pack designed specifically for grain-based alcohol fermentation. Featuring essential enzymes like alpha-amylase and glucoamylase, it eliminates the need for mashing by converting starches directly into fermentable sugars. Vacuum-sealed for maximum freshness, it supports fast, reliable fermentation within 6 to 14 days and is compatible with rice, corn, sorghum, wheat, and similar grains. Not suitable for sugar-only washes, this yeast is a favorite among home distillers seeking professional-grade results with minimal setup.

## Description

The Yellow Label Angel Yeast is very popular in the home distiller community. The yeast contains enzymes and is designed to convert grain to sugar as it ferments, so mashing/malting the grains is not required. But please note you can't use this yeast for sugar wash (i.e. only sugar + Yellow label yeast won't work). Please only use the Yellow label yeast with one of the following grains: rice, corn, sorghum, wheat, glutinous rice etc.

Review: Extremely Impressed so far - I’ve been learning to distill, which has brought me down many roads, as far as techniques materials etc, but have been searching for a simpler method to convert starches to sugar and then have the yeast convert to alcohol. Over time I’ve used traditional methods for grains as well as sugar washes, rum and even Brandy but have struggled with a full conversion of my starches, as well as sugars in molasses etc. After watching some YouTube videos from Jesse and George, I did as much research as I could find and decided to try this. I was hesitant because of the price, but evidently the price had gotten pretty high when I was looking before and then the price came down to the $35 range, with the 5% coupon, so I decided it was time to try this out. I’ve now used this on multiple batches, trying to do a comparison with what I’ve used already and taking notes along the way to compare against the other yeast I’ve used and the results have been VERY Positive. The fermentation of corn, rice, different sugars and molasses have all been very impressive. Alcohol content is still to be determined and I plan to update as I’ve had a chance to figure out the alcohol content made in comparison with other yeast and techniques. Since in the USA we can’t LEGALLY distill, I’ll just have to give some theoretical based on the data from my wine that I make. The one downfall I’ve found so far is the lack of clear instructions that come on the product. It’s really unclear what “stuff” dosages are. I’ve read many different interpretations on what it is and I’ve been using a lower end of what some grams/kg of stuff to use would be, since the price is higher than traditional yeast, and that seems to be working fine so far. I definitely plan to update my review to help out others who may be struggling with the decision to purchase or not, as well as struggling with the lack of instructions that are included.
Review: Amazing that cuts the fermentation setup process to minutes. - Ok, this stuff is magic! I dont know how but I gave it every opportunity to not work (purposely) because I was told it would start to ferment without the need of activation, warm water, or even Sugar! I tried it with nothing other than distilled water, old fashioned oats and this yeast and within 18 hrs the fermentation popped off! And 6 days later it was complete. Just amazing.

## Features

- Angel distillers yeast (Yellow Label) is a specially selected strain and distilling enzymes for alcohol beverage fermentation. Suitable for the cooked or uncooked fermentation process.
- Whether you are an expert or a new brewer, the yellow label Angel yeast is very easy to use.
- 1. Pour hot water over the grain of your choice; 2. Cooldown to around 30°C or 86°F; 3. Pitch the Yellow Label Yeast; 4. Stir twice a day for the first 3-5 days; 5. Wait for fermentation for up to 2 weeks.
- Please note that only adding Yellow label yeast to sugar won't work (This is not a sugar wash yeast). Please use it with one of the grains: rice, corn, sorghum, wheat etc.
- This 500g (1.1 lbs) yeast pack is vacuum-sealed in aluminum foil to ensure freshness, so it may feel firm upon arrival. Designed specifically for use with grain-based ingredients, it is not suitable for sugar wash applications. Freshly stocked from 2024/2025 batches, it contains essential enzymes like alpha-amylase, glucoamylase, and phytase. In some batches, the enzyme components may appear brown, which is completely normal and does not affect the product's quality.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked for me!!!
*by J***S on February 1, 2023*

Have read several reviews and like some reviewers I bought this after watching Jesse and George. However, I think some of the people did not read the description as it says it will not work in a sugar wash (me included). You have to have some grains. I recently did George's light whiskey recipe that was basically sugar, but it included 4lbs of DME. Now he used DADY yeast and I chose to use Angel because it was all I had. It fermented dry in about 7 days and I hope to run it tomorrow. I now realize I got lucky because without that DME I would have been like the other people on here complaining about it not fermenting or being dead.
