My Son in law visited recently, he has had the same problem with the rope hammocks, so he has now replaced his with these also. We have actually used them more than we have the old rope ones too because we don’t have to wait for them to dry after a rain. They come with a nice nylon storage bag and I like that the crossbar is in two pieces. It makes storage much simpler.
