Only 2 days in but so far a truly excellent display at a great price
The media could not be loaded. Only had this Monitor 2 days now but it’s excellent ,, below I’ll list the good and bad but for the price paid, I’m delightedGood ,,,,,, • Screen Size, Excellent, I’ve gone to ultrawide from a 31.5 G32QC 1440p monitor so not much of an upgrade as such in terms of size but the aspect ratio is incredible for flight simulator 2020, which is what I play mainly, I never thought of getting one until I seen my brother simming on his ultrawide and it just looks better • Colours, Amazing, They look as good as many IPS Panels I’ve had and maybe even better than some, for a VA Panel they really are excellent, I’ve uploaded a video showing these off through an online video but please be aware I did record it from my phone but please take my word for it, there excellent. You can also choose 10bit colour in the nvidia control panel if you select a screen refresh rate of 144hz or below through display port, which I’ve done, ASUS don’t seem to mention this anywhere and go with its 165hz 8bit colour in the description. • Size, Bezels = For this price point there very good and your getting a lot of screen for your money, it’s also fairly thin at the back for an ultrawide, my brother as the Z35p and it’s huge compared to this.Bad points ,,,,,,, • Not so much the monitors fault but I did pick this up through Amazon Resale Germany and it arrived with no power lead, hdmi lead, and display port lead, although Amazon resolved the issue very fast but I still had to pop to the local b & q store in the late evening to get a power lead to see if the monitor actually worked, so just be prepared if you pick it up through resale, • USB HUB = It comes with a built in 4 port USB 3.0 hub, but my clock that sits usually on top when connected to it turns off almost instantly, now the clock is USB 2.0 but surely the monitor is backwards compatible, my G32QC was USB 3.0 and the clocks usb power lead worked fine in it, so I’ll contact ASUS Support in the next few days and get back to this with an update, hopefully that way the reason the previous customer returned it :( , I did go into the settings and the standby usb power was set to off, I changed it to on but it still won’t power the clock • GHOSTING, When the overdrive setting is on when planning around the top panel inside the fenix a320 there is horrible and very big ghosting, it’s like the cockpit lights up with blue like squares below the instrument switches, it’s very annoying, I fixed this by simply turning off the overdrive setting in the displays onboard menu, im not sure if you should leave it on but with flight sim 2020 it’s been fine so far without it onNeutral ,,,,, The monitor comes with built in speakers but I’ve not even bothered testing them at all as I use an external sound bar • Onboard Menu = Accessible by joystick on the back it’s super simple to navigate, the only thing I’ve done in the menu is turn off overdrive and change the brightness from 100% to 60%

Games and Movies look great! I can't go back to using Windows on a normal widescreen...
The media could not be loaded. If you are looking for a gaming-centric ultrawide display with great performance and a clear and detailed screen, you won't be disappointed by the VG34. Here's why...The ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQEL1A comes equipped with built-in speakers, a feature that, at first glance, may seem more like a nod to convenience rather than a serious audio solution. These speakers, while not the powerhouse you'd find in a dedicated sound system, serve the role of a gentle stream rather than a roaring river. They produce sound that can be described as quiet and tinny, reminiscent of a small radio in a large room. However, this subtle performance is not without its charm. For activities like listening to podcasts or casual YouTube viewing, these speakers are like a soft-spoken guide in a library—adequate and discreet. They won't shake the walls, but they will faithfully deliver the story.I'm using the display with my PC (DisplayPort) and Playstation 5 (HDMI); if you connect speakers to the headphone jack, expect to hear a high pitched sound as the volume increases. This is a little disappointing, as my previous display (BenQ EX3202R) produced loud, clear, essentially perfect sound, over the 3.5mm jack. This is easily fixed by using a USB audio device with the PS5 and connecting that directly to the speakers. This is a very niche 'problem' that I'm not factoring into my overall opinion; a minor inconvenience, and more than anything, makes me respect whatever BenQ did to make such a great headphone jack! It's worth noting that you must disable FreeSync in order to change the aspect-ratio; something you will want to do if using a game console (if you don't want the image to be stretched)...this means I can't recommend the display for console owners, if console is their priority, as you will lose FreeSync in order to avoid a stretched image...and this also means you get black bars at either side of the image (which I was prepared for, with it being ultrawide, but the FreeSync arrangement is a let down!). This means 'VRR' won't be enabled; however 4K works fine and downscales very nicely.HDR performance is miles ahead of my previous BenQ display; although this display only has a brightness of around 350 - so you won't get a true HDR performance; however it still looks good. On Windows, nVidia cards can simulate HDR on SDR content (using some kind of AI process) - and it does improve the fidelity - providing deeper blacks with more detail in shadows. Top-end bright white colours lose any fine detail, but overall the HDR performance is better than I expected... chances are, it's best left turned off, only to be enabled on a display with at least 600 (ideally 1000) .The monitor's stand is a testament to engineering prowess, combining sturdiness with a well-thought-out design. Imagine it as the roots of an ancient tree, holding firm against the winds of time. It not only provides a stable base but also incorporates easy cable management, ensuring that your gaming setup remains a sleek command center free from the clutches of cable chaos. While the monitor exudes robustness in its overall build, it does lean heavily on budget-looking plastics. This choice might remind one of a knight in shining armor, where the shine is more a testament to function over form. The aesthetic does not detract from its quality but instead underlines a focus on performance and durability over superficial appeal.Adjusting settings on many monitors can feel like deciphering ancient hieroglyphs. The ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQEL1A, however, introduces a joystick control located on the middle underside of the monitor, making menu navigation as easy as charting a course on clear waters. There's no lag when navigating menus or changing settings, akin to having a responsive co-pilot in a cockpit, ensuring smooth adjustments and optimal performance. One of the monitor's standout features is its impeccable performance in motion clarity and color reproduction. Ghosting, the specter that haunts fast-paced scenes, is notably absent in this monitor. Playing games or watching videos is like observing a falcon in flight—smooth, precise, and without a trace of blurring. The color reproduction of the monitor is a veritable feast for the eyes. It brings to mind an artist's palette, where every hue and shade is vibrant and true to life, enriching every visual content from games to movies.Gaming on the ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQEL1A is akin to stepping into a new world. Titles like Diablo become vastly more immersive, thanks to the expansive horizontal viewing space. It's like opening a panoramic window onto the game world, where every detail is laid bare, and the landscape stretches into the horizon.Watching ultrawide videos on this monitor is an experience that rivals the allure of cinema. With no black borders to mar the view, it's as if the monitor becomes a portal to other worlds, matching the format used by many cinema films. This feature turns your desk into a private theater, where every screening is an exclusive event. The ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQEL1A Curved Gaming Monitor is more than just a tool for gaming and entertainment; it's a gateway to new experiences. Its robust design, combined with user-friendly controls and stellar performance, makes it a reliable companion for anyone looking to delve deeper into the digital realm. While it may bear the marks of cost-saving in its use of plastics, this does not detract from its overall quality and appeal. The monitor's performance in delivering ghost-free visuals and vibrant colors enhances every interaction, from gaming to movie watching. Its expansive display and the ability to watch ultrawide content without borders elevates it from a mere monitor to a window into vast digital landscapes. The ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQEL1A is a worthy consideration for gamers, content creators, and anyone in between seeking a monitor that combines performance with practicality.

This is a fantastic Monitor, with great graphics and sharpness and built in speakers. Works great with a Xbox series s and offers 120fps when gaming, speakers are very loud and the built in cross hair is also great.
