Within 6 weeks it has developed rust on rim under lid, and rust spots on sides and bottom of inner container. I cleaned everything, but rust returned within a week, and unit is worthless, even though it heats perfectly. I missed return by 2 weeks. This is not remediable, and should not happen. Do not buy this. Update: There is a strong possibility that the rust came from the basalt rocks that this device heated. I had previously used river rocks for many years in a clinical setting, but now have found out that basalt has a high iron content. I had recently added 4 new basalt rocks to the water bath, along with the many years used river rocks.
