I can get ignition 9 out of ten tries with the bare bones and 5 out of ten with expensive one and this one is so much easier takes a lot less force perhaps because it's smaller and less resistance from air compression. This one is more about speed than force. It's also very easy to make it into any cool design you can dream up. I used a metal engraver and added wood handle but it is fine straight from the box. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ worth it *by A***S on January 5, 2016* Great item. Easily fits backpacking, fishing, bug out, or any survival kit. Keep mine in a little baggie/tin with essentials in my Carhartt coat pocket. Seems to be quite rugged. O ring seal has stood abuse well, plus it's easily replaceable with string or another rubber/neoprene like ring. Only have two complaints. Being so small its more effectively used with a gloved/pad over the plunger, otherwise the small piston can be rough on your hand. However its remarkably easy to make a "sheath" for the piston and body. Or even simply epoxy on a cabinet handle to the top and/or bottom. The other problem is with no pressure release port trying to store the piston inside the chamber is problematic (can be done if you insert the piston upside down into the chamber but this exposes o ring and tinder hollow) if the rig is unsheathed, and all but impossible if you've put a sheath and cap on the rig. However I suppose that is one reason this rig is only 1/3-1/4 of the price of other commercially made models with such a pressure release.I plan to keep an eye out for a small enough valve to incorporate into the chamber to allow for said release.
