I heat the grill and use the scraper first; then soak the Grill Rescue pad in water. Using a lot of pressure I slowly work the tool over the hot grill and it steams an wipes the grill surface clean. I just do it before I cook, but you could reheat the grill after you eat and prep it for next time too. It seems like an expensive tool, but if it lasts a full year, I’d be happy to replace it.

This "brush"? works just as well as they claim. I don't use it very often as my grates are cast iron and seasoned but periodically when I want to get them super clean without the risk of scraping the seasoning off with a bristle brush I will use this. Very solid build. I use this in tandem with the Charbroil Nylon bristle brush and it works great. Cleaning the head can take a bit when you don't have a dishwasher handy but it is still dead simple. I'm not sure if it will last as many uses yet as claimed but I'll still be happy with it anyway.
