They last about 1 year and then start crumbling and need to be replaced again **Q: how thick are they** A: close to .5 inch.....but they package them terrible and 3 out of the 6 were broke!! **Q: Can I place charcoals on it for bbq ?** A: I would not use this as a charcoal grate. Why, you ask? Because the charcoal will be too close to the cooking grate above and you will not have any way to regulate the heat (temp). Your food would likely be charred on the outside, and undercooked on the inside. Just my opinion. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/291030010-hongso-8-x-7-25-replacement-ceramic-radiant-flame-tamer](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/291030010-hongso-8-x-7-25-replacement-ceramic-radiant-flame-tamer) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-11-05*
