Try using 7v for supply voltage. **Q: what does the jumper do?** A: You can remove the jumper to provide a different power supply (JD-VCC) to the relay actuation circuit from the one used by the host controller and to the LED side of the optocouplers. According to the relay spec, the nominal current draw is 71mA, and if for a 8 relay board that would be 568mA, and if you turn on all 8 relays simultaneously, you'll need 2-3 time more to achieve the latency. **Q: Just purchased one of these. Can I hook it directly to the Raspberry Pi or do I need to use a Mosfet or Opto Isolator?** A: Based on the picture, this 2 relay shield already has opto isolators for both relays (that is what the two 4 pin modules are).
