They will flex a little if the size of the pole is a 1/8" or so larger than the cap, but not much more. I cannot speak as to how long they will hold up in harsh UV and weather, but they seem to be well constructed.Only complaint is that the top of the caps have a 3/8" tip in the center. It seems that this may be from where they were extracted from the mold, but I do wish the company would trim it off. either way, this is aesthetic only, otherwise, these are a good buy! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for other things too *by B***Y on Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2019* I really like the product, but did not use it for it's intended purpose. I replaced my old furnace and hot water heater with High Efficiency models that no longer used my old flue pipe. My roofing guy wanted $800 to remove the flue pipe, patch the roof and re-shingle the roof. Instead I removed the old cap, sealed the flue pipe off with some aluminum tape, and secured the Marine Dock Piling Cone Cap over the top to keep out the weather. This 7 inch size would not fit on a 7 inch diameter pole.And this plastic is brittle - not flexible.
