This provides better stability when using your camera. The three way feature enables the user to shoot both horizontal and vertical pictures. The panhead also includes a quick-release camera mounting platform that attaches to the base of your camera. With this platform attached, it is quick and easy to mount and remove your camera from the tripod. Simply open the sure lock lever on top of the panhead, slide the plate into the front channel on the panhead, relock the lever, and you?re ready to take pictures. (A quick tip from the professionals: if you use both a digital and video camera, have a quick release mounting platform for each camera you own. When using the tripod, it is simple to switch cameras without having to detach and reattach the mounting plate to your other camera.)
