The Reverse Osmosis Filter Air Gap AG110-002 is designed for optimal performance with a maximum flow rate of 1 GPM. ## Description

The AG110-002 reverse osmosis (RO) filter air gap prevents backflow from the standpipe into the RO system. This unit is a gravity flow device and, as such, must have a standpipe feeding directly to a drain without kinks and bends. The GAP-A-RO air gap’s maximum flow rate is 1 gallon per minute (GPM). The maximum flow rate through an air gap is the flow rate at which water does not splash outside an air gap. The air gap is dry on the outside at the maximum flow rate. The AG110-002 air gap must be installed per the manufacturer’s instructions, and the outlet side feeding directly into a standpipe. This configuration lets the discharge water stream flow freely through the outlet piping. The inlet port fits 1/4-inch OD poly tubing from the reverse osmosis unit, and the outlet port fits 3/8-inch OD poly tubing directly feeding into a standpipe. The AG110-002 air gap provides the following advantages: Super strong material to provide a secure connection, tested and listed for compliance with applicable plumbing codes, is easy to install, easy to use, and easy to maintain.

Review: Necessary for certain water filter systems - I was assembling my own reverse osmosis system that would work with a single tube faucet. So, I needed an air-gap for the drain. This fits exactly what I intended.
Review: Either due to poor design or poor workmanship - It's very expensive for what it is. But I bought it any way for convenience during busy time remodeling. However it leaked from the get go and I ended up spending more time trouble shooting than if I were to build one from parts from hardware store (and would have been much cheaper too). So where it leaked? The top chamber the red inlet leads to is not molded in one piece. The chamber was closed on top using a top plate which was glued on by seemingly PVC hot glue. Either due to poor design or poor workmanship, it leaked between the plate and its housing where glue coverage was poor. The eventual fix was simple by applying a additional layer of PVC hot glue. However trying to diagnose where and what causing the leak while it's installed high behind the sink inside the sink cabinet took a course of two days. The one star rating is for selling a over priced plumbing product that leaks.

It's very expensive for what it is. But I bought it any way for convenience during busy time remodeling. However it leaked from the get go and I ended up spending more time trouble shooting than if I were to build one from parts from hardware store (and would have been much cheaper too).
