Prepare an endless variety of food fast with the small Hamilton Beach 8-Cup food Processor & vegetable chopper. A stainless steel s-blade for chopping and pureeing, a reversible disc for slicing and shredding, 450 watts and 2 speeds plus pulse offer power and control. Troubleshoot: (1) Unit does not operate on any speed or Pulse - * Is the unit plugged in? Does the outlet work? * Are the bowl and lid locked in place? See “How to Use” sections (2) Vegetables are not shredding or slicing - * Store vegetables with high water content in the refrigerator prior to processing. Room-temperature vegetables are less firm and do not perform as well (3) Unit has a burning smell - * There may be a residue left on the motor from the manufacturing process, causing a slight odor during initial use. This will go away. If a strong odor or any visible smoke appears, unplug unit IMMEDIATELY and call the Customer Service number. Other troubleshoot solutions are available on the user manual pg-11.

Review: Perfect! - ****Update**** STILL going strong & never failed me not even once. I constantly use this at LEAST once a day & after all this time it works as though i just unboxed it yesterday. I blown away by the quality esp since I am NOT easy on anything lol! Review: Best (value) Kitchen Appliance I've ever Bought - I've pined for a food processor for the best part of 9 years. Usually put off by the high prices and the 'well how much will I really use it' I never was able to pull the trigger, until now. Checklist: Under $25? Yes. At least 4.2 Average Review? Yes. Comes with slicer, greater, and multi-purpose blade? Yes. Well then what am I holding out for? I've used this in one weeks of food prep and as far as I'm concerned it's already paid for itself. First I used it to slice leeks, which it did beautifully. Then I used the grater blade to shred two onions, easy as can be. From there I put in the general blade, added two cups of cheese and made a wonderfully smooth cheese and onion topping for my cod fillets. In 20 years of cooking I've never gotten this topping this smooth and creamy before! It was amazing. And then after a quick rinse, I ran two pounds of potatoes through the slicer for Scalloped potatoes and then came out far better than I could have done by hand, and it saved my 15 minutes. How have I lived without this?! Of course it's not perfect, I mean, it's a sub $25 food processor, and it's easy to spend $200 on a food processor, so obviously there's going to be some compromises. The motor is on the weak side, but I also never had any problems with power doing what I described earlier. It's loud, almost unpleasant to listen to when in operation. The base feels cheap, but that being said, everything clicks together with a good feel. As far as I am aware, there are no accessory blades. And I don't care about any of this, because it cost me a whole $22. Disassembling for cleaning is a breeze, it took me about 30 seconds to clean it from one task to the next, and there's even suction cups on the base to stick it to the counter! I can't recommend this enough at this point, as an entry level, do most everything food processor it can't be beat.

**Q: Anyone try making pie dough with this?**
A: works good for dough but I only use the pulse action otherwise it goes to fast and that creates more heat which you don't want when making pie dough

**Q: Is it possible to cube veggies like potato,eggplant or radish??**
A: Unfortunately not. There are such things as cubing grids for food processors but as far as I can tell they are made for professional grade food processors and typically cost in the area of $100plus. A quick internet or Amazon search of "cubing grids" will bring up your choices.

**Q: Would this unit work well for making nut butters (cashew, almond, etc)?**
A: With heart issues, I need to watch saturated fat, salt, and sugar so I make myself (and my 14-year old lab for his treats!) all my own nut butters from unsalted nuts of all kinds. This thing handles pretty much anything I toss in it. Better than the Kitchenaid one my sister bought for about 3X the price!!!

**Q: Is this good to 'rice' cauliflower?**
A: If you only pulse for about 3 seconds, probably.  But it's very powerful and your result could be mush rather than "rice". :)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quick and Slick!

This HB food processor is POW-ER-FUL. It is QUICK! This is the second food processor I've ever owned. I purchased a Black & Decker about two years ago. It is clumpy, huge, and very hard to use--so--when I saw this one, I said to myself, "Self! This looks like the food processor you were trying to buy the first time." I was thinking, 'What am I going to do with TWO food processors?' Well, here's the answer: Use one and put the other one away. That's what I did and THIS ONE is the one I use EVERYDAY--several times a day. The B&D was used about three times in two years! To add insult to injury, I placed the B&D in the box this one came in and put it away. What makes this processor quick and slick is 1) Powerful speed! I shredded eight (8) large carrots in less than five minutes with very, very little effort. I also used the slicer side and sliced two red onions--in nothing flat. 2) When using the 'pulse' feature, two to three pulses to chop carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, mix cake dough, etc--is all it takes. I haven't had to use the #2 setting yet because the 'pulse' and/or #1 setting performs the task so well. Now, I'm not saying I'll NEVER use the B&D processor again. It does have a dough blade for making bread so I will probably pull it out and live tortuously through the noise and clumsiness to get the job done; however, I plan to try with all my might to see if this one will do the job just as well. (I think it will). The reason I think that is because I made banana bread with it just today and everything mixed purr-fect-ly. The bread is moist and wonderful! I just creamed the butter and sugar first. After being careful to scrape everything down to make certain it is well mixed, I just dumped in the bananas, vanilla, and dry ingredients at once. I pulsed it a couple times, then mixed everything on the #1 setting for about six seconds and it was done. It is so delicious. If you buy this food processor, you won't be disappointed. It cleans easily too. Of course, the motor is not whisper quiet,but let me assure you that it is no louder than a $24 stand mixer (which I also own)...LOL. It's light-weight and don't let that fool you. I was a little hesitant when I took it out the box and realized how lightweight it is. Hamilton Beach did it again. I chopped some pork and made breakfast sausage the very first night. Worked perfectly. Just be sure the meat is cold. One thing I do miss. The B&D has a little indicator light that stays on when the appliance is plugged in. I really miss having that on this HB processor. The trade-off is worth it though. The other trade-off is this one fits so perfectly underneath the kitchen cabinets on my countertop. Slick! I can hardly wait to make coleslaw with it. Haven't tried to shred cheese with it and I probably won't ever because I buy my cheese already shredded. I'm sure if I decide to, though, it will work well. I received this processor three (3) days ago and have used it more in this short amount of time than my other processor, mixer and blender combined. Happy! Happy! Chop! Chop! Slice! Shred!
