Like a classic cocktail shaker, the top is a strainer. This shaker set is the best!!! **Q: Where is this made?** A: The bottom of the shaker says "made in China" **Q: Is it insulated?** A: It is not insulated. However, it is an excellent cocktail shaker set. **Q: Why does it leak so bad?** A: I have had zero issues with it leaking. make sure the shaker is not overfilled as this might cause a pressure issue while shaking. do not put carbonated liquids in the shaker as it will explode. make sure all parts are clean and securely tightened. Leak proof. Good quality. I've been using it as my primary shaker for around 5 years now. Bought one for the cottage as well. Only thing that is keeping me from buying a third one is the price that has significantly increased since I bought it.
