## Description

US military armorers called on Tipton to provide cleaning rods that would clean service rifles in demanding conditions. Carbon fiber is well-suited to the tough tasks assigned to cleaning rods. It combines the best features of stainless steel and coated cleaning rods, then adds valuable properties of its own. Carbon fiber can't scratch your bore like stainless steel and won't embed like coated rods. Carbon fiber rods can be bent to an extreme degree and return to their original straightness. These cleaning rods are "deluxe" because they feature an ergonomically designed handle that spins on two sets of ball bearings - the result is a cleaning rod that smoothly follows the rifling both pushing and pulling, even while under pressure. The "shank-through" construction also allows the user to apply "reasonable" hammer blows to the end of the cleaning rod to get a tight patch through a bore.

**Q: In what country are the tipton carbon fiber rods manufactured?**
A: They are made in China unfortunately. Had same problem with Belts 5.11 is geared towards American Law enforcement but made in China so went with special-Ops made in USA. Difficult to buy anything without it being from China, Japan, or another country....

**Q: will this rod work with my bushmaster AR 15 .223/5.56?**
A: Yes, your AR 15 is considered .22 caliber and Tipton does have a 26" rod which would be more than enough in length for any AR 15.   If you have a shorter barrel than 20", you might want to consider a shorter rod.

**Q: How long is the actual rod on the 26 inch version? Thanks**
A: The rod is 25-13/16

**Q: does the specified length include the handle in the overall measurement or is it just the rod length?  If overall, what is the length of the handle?**
A: The carbon fiber shaft on my "26 inch cleaning rod" is 26 inches long.  The handle is 6.5 inches long.  The combined total length of the entire rod is 32.5 inches.  The specified length does NOT include the handle.  It only refers to the length of the carbon fiber shaft.  When you're deciding what size rod you need, don't forget to also account for the length of the receiver and, if applicable, the muzzle device or you'll end up with a rod that is too short.
