The nScan 690gt is ideal for use in customer, patient or guest facing services. Its unique design is well suited for front desks and use on mobile carts in healthcare. Review: Ambir nScan 690gt works for Medical ID cards - Easy install. Downloaded and installed latest software and driver first before connecting scanner. Software can be minimized and set for auto-scan and the folder to save to, so as soon as an ID card is placed in the top of the scanner, it will scan in just a few seconds and pop up a scanned image with the option to tag it and then save it in the defined folder. This scanner takes up very little desk space, which is a premium in the health care office it was installed at. I highly recommend the 690GT scanner for quick ID card scanning. Review: Good product - Good delivery ## Features - ULTRA-COMPACT FOOTPRINT: The nScan 690gt takes up far less space than ADF or flatbed scanners. We will scan drivers license for security purpose in a gated subdivision.** A: Thank you for your inquiry. Ambir does not offer software that can read and organize information found on National, Provincial, or State issued ID cards. Our 690GT scanner only captures the image of the ID card. There are many 3rd party software providers that offer ID reading software and if they support the industry standard TWAIN imaging protocol, the 690GT will work. Thank you, Ambir Technology **Q: Is this capable of scanning license as well as business cards? License required for scanning as image, pdf and save in google drive?** A: This scanner will scan both sides of drivers licenses and other cards and can save them as PDF or searchable PDF. Users can upload images to Google Drive as well as other cloud storage services. **Q: Does this software work for Mac OS?** A: No, the nScan 690gt supports Windows 7/8/10. **Q: mac compatible? Want to purchase this today if its Mac Compatible.** A: Hello and thank you for your question, unfortunately this scanner is not compatible with Mac only with windows systems. If you have any more questions, please feel free to visit our website and you can phone in or chat. Thank you again. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ambir nScan 690gt works for Medical ID cards *by K***S on 22 July 2021* Easy install. I've bought three of these due to the lack of options on the market. The first two just stopped working for various reason after about a year and now the third one, on top of not working any longer (we do regular maintenance and replacement of the roller and seperation pad), this piece of garbage is insisting we provide our "license number" as if I kept the paperwork around all this time. Save yourself the time and money and just get something else. Or, if you do order this, at least get the replacement plan so you can get a second one when it dies at the year mark. ## Frequently Bought Together - Ambir nScan 690gt-AS High-Speed Vertical Card Scanner for Windows PC - Logitech MK295 Wireless Mouse & Keyboard Combo with SilentTouch Technology, Full Numpad, Advanced Optical Tracking, Lag-Free Wireless, 90% Less Noise - Graphite - Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard And Mouse Combo For Windows, 2.4 GHz Wireless, Compact Mouse, 8 Multimedia And Shortcut Keys, For PC, Laptop - Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/304340647-ambir-technology-nscan-690gt-as-high-speed-vertical-card-scanner](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/304340647-ambir-technology-nscan-690gt-as-high-speed-vertical-card-scanner) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
