The microphone static alot. Just a waste of money. **Q: Where does the sound come from?** A: As you can see from the related photo, there is a microphone and a receiver. In order to turn for this to work, you need something like the "Singing Machine," that will be the amplifier (or another kind of amplifier that has a 1/4" phono input into which the receiver will fit). That kind of radio acts as the receiver / amplifer. One thing to note, whatever you use, it isn't a very powerful signal. It is actually louder than the plugged mic.UPDATE 8/2018: Still working great. One of the wire connections came loose and I had to solder it back in place, the mic cover doesn't screw on tight and will come off. It goes through 9v batteries pretty quick so had to stock up. STILL PLEASED with the mic, you cannot beat the price. It is used weekly, if not daily! Distance from the receiver isn't a problem because it's in the same room and close by the mic.
