**Q: What are the dimensions of this item?**
A: Nancy, the lag bolt is 3/8" x 5" the plate is 3/8" x 1 7/8" x 2 5/8" the wood screws are #10 x 3 3/4"Thanks Scott

**Q: Can it be used with a 2x2 post?**
A: Most Newell post are larger. This allows post base to cover the plate which is about 2 5/8 inches long. So you would see the plate. It could work, but you would need to fit small angle or trim to cover at bottom. Great product, solid and stable. If you use it and put molding, tack molding to post not floor. That way you can pound to tighten if loosens. Which happens until settles. About 1-2 months into use. Not touched mine since 15 months ago, still stable. Good luck.

A: It is only 1 fastener for 1 newel post.

**Q: Can these be used on exterior posts?**
A: The LJ-3005 is best not used with an exterior application.
